Long-term exposure to large quantities of wood dust generated during wood processing can directly endanger the health of workers such as rhinitis, chronic bronchitis, cancer, asthma and even pneumoconiosis. In order to understand the relationship between the wood dust concentration and the incidence of wood pneumoconiosis, to provide the basis for the development of wood dust hygiene standards, we conducted a survey on five wood processing plants in Haikou and calculated the allowable dust concentration by statistical methods. The results are reported as follows.
