Objective To investigate the distribution of microtubule-associated protein 2 (MAP-2) and nestin in the development of human embryonic spinal cord and its significance. Methods The expression and distribution of MAP-2 and Nestin in the anterior horn, central canal and posterior horn of human fetus in the second, third and fourth month of age were detected by immunohistochemistry. Results In the second to fourth months of age, the distribution of nestin positive neurofibers was found in the human embryonic spinal cord. With the increase of gestational age, the positive neuronal precursor cells with nestin expression in the spinal cord anterior horn and glial The cells showed the trend of increasing first and then decreasing, and gradually increasing in the posterior horn. MAP-2 was positively expressed in the cytoplasm of neurons in the anterior and posterior horn of spinal cord, and increased with gestational age. Conclusion MAP-2 and Nestin are involved in the regulation of the growth and development of human embryonic spinal cord neurons and glial cells.
