According to the “Nihon Keizai Shimbun” reported that Japan’s Tokushima University Associate Professor Masanobu Hongong, who developed a new optical recording technology, the use of 2 mm thick, 2 cm in size quartz glass can record the equivalent of 100 CD-ROM capacity information . Ordinary CDs record information on the same surface as paper, and new technologies that utilize quartz glass, like books, can be recorded at multiple levels. It is said that using the simple method of pulsed laser, 1 mm thick quartz glass can have 350 layers of recording surface. For the first time ever, it is the first time that international materials such as quartz glass have been tested internationally, which could break the limits of current records. Misawa and others will also study its internal mechanism and practicality, once the practical success, it is a revolution of optical memory materials.
