上海地区栽培夏甘兰已有几十年历史,是解决上海地区夏淡季的重要蔬菜之一。以往栽培的“黑叶小平头”,近几年来由于混杂退化,产量降低,抗性减弱。我所甘兰组在1975～1976年采用“黑叶小平头自交系”和其他一些早熟类型品种杂交,目的是分析这些自交系和品种的一般配合力和特殊配合力,进一步选配亲本,从而为杂交优势利用提供依据;并从中选育较抗病、高产,适应本地区的优良杂交一代,供生产应用。
