The first reason why people keep a close watch on the concept of imperialism is the absence of colonial imperialism. The second reason is geopolitical competition. The third reason is the understanding of the global power structure. The fourth, based on Lenin’s theory of imperialism, leads to a misunderstanding that misleads people about the relations between the developed capitalist and the developing countries. The fifth reason is global environmental issues. The sixth reason is the distinction between “domination” and “hegemony”, which introduces the perspective of hegemony into the concept of imperialism. The seventh reason is the methodology of the dynamic mechanism of imperialism, in other words, the modernization of imperialism.
