作为[FeCl_2(H_2O)_4]Cl·(C_(36)H_(36)N_(24)0_(12))·4H_2O加合物的一部分,反式[FeCl_2(H_2O)_4]~+的结构首次被单晶X 射线衍射分析方法加以证实。同时还用该方法解析了[FeCl_2(H_2O)_4]Cl·(C_(36)H_(36)N_(24)0_(12))·4H_2O加合物的晶体结构。
