光纤通信的优点在军事应用中能得到充分的体现。进入80年代后,美国制定了庞大的光纤通信军事应用计划,使其装备和武器的技术水平进入一个新阶段。文中介绍了美军的几种光纤通信系统的特点与要求。野战光缆通信与光纤制导导弹实质上都是点-点通信。前者是长距离,用于军事指挥系统,保密性好;后者是短距离,用于反装甲武器系统,命中率高。机载和舰载光纤系统,一般都属于光纤局部网络,它们可将各种传感器、控制器、处理器和显示器连结起来,组成高速率传输系统。
The advantages of optical fiber communication in military applications can be fully reflected. After entering the 1980s, the United States formulated a huge military communications program for optical fiber communications, bringing the technical level of its equipment and weapons to a new stage. This paper describes the characteristics and requirements of several US military optical fiber communication systems. Field cable communications and fiber-guided missiles are essentially point-to-point communications. The former is a long distance for the military command system, confidentiality is good; the latter is a short distance, anti-armor weapon system, high hit rate. Airborne and shipborne fiber optic systems are typically fiber optic local networks that connect various sensors, controllers, processors and displays to form a high-speed transmission system.
