Tibetan armament has a long history that is heavily influenced by the culture of Central Plains. An important part of the Chinese culture of armaments, they also retain their uniqueness and interrelationship. In Tibetan historical records written in the Ming Dynasty, there were detailed accounts of swords. In general,Tibetan armaments advanced substantially during the Tang Dynasty by leing from the Tang.Since the entire Tibetan region was goved by the central govment during the Yuan and Ming Dynasties, there were no more large-scale conflicts in the region,so the progress in armaments gradually came to a halt. Therefore, some features of Han,Tang, and Song weapons were well preserved in Tibetan weapons both in appearance and forging technique.Focusing on armour, quivers, spears, and swords, this article attempts to provide an account of how Tibetans leed from the armament of Central Plains through a close look at historical records and archaeological finds.
