BACKGROUND: The angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) gene is considered as a candidate gene for the development of hypertension. Insulin resistance and hyperlipidemia are also considered to be associated with the development of hypertension. Due to the genetic heterogeneity of genes, it is necessary to explore the relationship between angiotensin-converting enzyme and insulin resistance and blood lipids among hypertensive individuals of different ethnic groups. Objective: To investigate the relationship between ACE gene I / D polymorphism and insulin resistance and blood lipid in Mongolian population with hypertension. Design: current situation investigation. Unit: Department of Epidemiology, School of Public Health, Harbin Medical University; Department of Epidemiology, School of Radiation Medicine and Public Health, Soochow University; Department of Epidemiology, Tongliao Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention; PARTICIPANTS: To select Luotuosu (Township) as the research site of Kezuohouqi, Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, all the subjects were all Mongolian residents who lived there for a long time. A total of 115 cases of hypertension were obtained. Intervention: The insertion / deletion polymorphism of angiotensin converting enzyme gene was detected by polymerase chain reaction. The blood lipids, blood glucose and insulin were detected by kit. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Blood lipids, blood glucose, insulin, insulin sensitivity index. Results: Of the 115 hypertensive patients, 33 were genotype II, 62 were genotype ID, and 20 were genotype DD. Total cholesterol was (5.1 ± 1.4), (5.2 ± 1.5) and (4.9 ± 1.1) mmol / L in the three groups, and (3.4 ± 2.5), (3.4 ± 3.0) and (1.3 ± 0.7), (1.2 ± 0.6) and (1.3 ± 0.9) mmol / L, respectively, and the values of low density lipoprotein were (3.1 ± 1.4) and
