Suffering from failing to know the exact battle in Afghanistan, a Massachusetts Institute of Technology scientist created a mobile multi-media journalist himself. Chris Mason, director of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Media Lab, introduced that his remote-control robot can help war correspondents get hot-zone news. It can witness the war at close range, or even be competent for the interview. This invention, inspired by NASA’s Mars Explorer probe, not only helps journalists avoid the danger of firepower, but also breaks the military’s restrictions on frontline interviews. Paflik, a professor of journalism at Columbia University, believes that although Robot Reporter is only a slight improvement on the current technology, it is a fantastic idea.
