In order to find the minimum number of bits to ensure the stability of the system, some important results of the universal relationship between the number of quantization bits, system stability and system noise are reviewed for linear networked control systems. For nonlinear networked control systems, In the general system, a few quantized bits can ensure some results of stability. In addition, some studies on the minimum number of bits to ensure the stability of the system are given when the system adopts a more general nonlinear feedforward model. Some results were demonstrated using simulation. This paper gives a more comprehensive description of the research status of quantitative problems in networked control systems and points out that some problems to be solved have some guiding significance for future research.
