行为艺术(Performance Art)产生自20世纪60年代,70年代在西方占据重要地位。形成浩浩荡荡的“行为大军”,80年代由于种种原因导致其一度不振。到90年代在亚洲却形成一股强大的力量,反过来又在很大程度上影响了国际艺术的发展。然而,行为艺术作为当今中国最前卫的艺术遭到了各界的批评,争议蜂起。在批评中,我们深深感到缺乏一个合理有效的界定和评判的标准,对种种概念的混淆使许多批评陷入了没有意义的境地。在此,我就针对这一问题,尝试性地讨论一下行为艺术的界定以及评判行为艺术好坏的标准。
Performance Art was born in the West in the 1960s and 1970s. Forming a mighty “army of behavior”, for the 80s due to various reasons, it was weak. By the 1990s, a powerful force was formed in Asia, which in turn greatly affected the development of international art. However, as the most avant-garde art in today’s China, performance art has been criticized by all walks of life and has been disputed. In criticism, we deeply feel the lack of a reasonable and effective standard of definition and judgment. The obfuscation of various concepts has left many criticisms in a meaningless situation. Here, I will address this issue and tentatively discuss the definition of performance art and the criteria for judging the quality of performance art.
