一季度,中国实现航空总周转量为65.8亿吨公里,旅客周转量521.1亿客公里,货邮周转量19.3亿吨公里,同比分别增长17.0%、18.8%、12.4%,特别是国内旅客运输量同比增长达21.1%。客座率达到72.4%,同比提高3.8个百分点,显示出强劲的增长势头。不过,航空公司的业绩却出现大幅亏损。根据民航总局预测,国内各航空公司今年第一季度的亏损总额将超过25亿元人民币。对航空业的担忧之一,是运力增长可能过快,从而导致客座率和票价水平的下滑。预期2007年之后,运力过剩的风险会逐渐显现出来。
