In the past few decades, with the rapid urban transformation, urban growth and population densification in the world, especially in Asian countries, urban space has become an important means of achieving environmental, social and economic sustainable development. This article explores the classification, assessment, and development of design and planning framework for new urban spaces from urban research in Singapore to urbanization under high-density conditions as a guide to rapid urbanization and sustainable development.
