In Chinese a large number of idioms are very particular about the formal beauty of the language and the beauty of the phonology. Specifically, the emphasis is on the dual structure of the sentence and the rhythm of phonological rhythm. Let us first appreciate the verses of the king’s beard, “Deng Guanquelou”: day by day, the Yellow River into the sea; for thousands of miles, to the next level. This poem can be said to be a highly unified example of formal beauty and phonological beauty in ancient poems that we know well. Sentences are symmetrically arranged in the form of neatness and symmetry. They are very typical antithesis (ie dual) quatrains of “all four languages are right”. Rhythm reads clearly and catchy, which is especially convenient for memorizing and reciting.
