At the time of the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Institute of Construction Mechanization of the Chinese Academy of Building Research, I would like to express my gratitude here. The enrichment of social capital such as dams, embankments or railways, roads, communication facilities, and high-rise buildings is indispensable for the development of the national economy and the stability of the people’s livelihood. However, in the past, we completely depended on human and animal power as the means of construction.
