Baslem absurdly and humorously reproduces the dilemmas faced by writers roaming the postmodern cities when exploring the creative path through the imitation of traditional fairy tales and the narrative mode using fragment collage in Glass Mountain. The observers and writers of the state of existence clearly realize that the traditional literary form can no longer afford the task of writing contemporary urban experience and the anti-fairy tale nature of post-modern urban life. These thoughts are reflected in the portrayal of their urban imagery. Under the writer’s cynical surface, what is hidden is a serious consideration of human nature, traditional humanistic values and various problems in post-modern society.
