Here we report a new method for the detection of Brucella filariasis in a blood sample using a labeled DNA probe. The sequence of this probe is based on the Hhal repeat DNA cluster of Brucella filaments and is species-specific, allowing detection even of a microfilariae in a hybridization assay.
