Objective To explore the existing problems and causes of self-protection of blood-borne diseases in this hospital, and put forward some feasible preventive measures for self-protection according to the actual situation. Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate the related problems of blood-borne diseases among medical staff in related departments. Results There were 318 respondents, 148 doctors and 170 nurses. There were 195 active wear gowns in the event of blood contamination, accounting for 61.3% of the total, mainly due to health care workers’ knowledge of wearing gowns but not on demand To do, accounting for 81.0% of all causes. There were 156 regular medical examinations and 49.1% of vaccines vaccinated. The reason for this was that medical and nursing staff knew of the medical examination and vaccination, but did not do so as required. Conclusion For our hospital, we should raise awareness of self-protection of medical staff and strengthen education and pre-service training of health-care workers on self-protection of blood-borne diseases so as to reduce the occupational exposure risk and infection rate of medical staff.
