隐喻是多义词词义演化的基础之一,它能揭示不同义项之间的联系,有助于词义的理解和记忆。本文将隐喻应用于大学英语课堂的多义词教学。实证研究表明,基于隐喻的词汇教学能促进学生在写作中对多义词引申义的使用。
Metaphor is one of the foundations of the semantic evolution of polysemy. It can reveal the connection between different meanings and help to understand and remember words. This article applies metaphor to polysemy teaching in college English classes. Empirical research shows that metaphor-based vocabulary teaching can promote students’ use of polysemy in the writing.
