大陆对台湾作家钟理和的研究始于20世纪80年代。由于两岸长期的隔离,大陆一些研究者对台湾客家文化传统的认识不够全面,在钟理和研究中出现了对两个关键词认识和理解上的偏差:一、钟理和文学作品中的“原乡”与作为客家人内心中的原乡不同内涵的混淆。其实台湾客家人的原乡指的就是他们的祖籍地,钟理和原乡就是广东梅州,而文学作品中的“原乡”是一个多意的原乡,是想象中的原乡,与现实的原乡有很大的不同,二者等同显然不符合事实。二、对台湾传统习俗“同姓不婚”理解的片面性。由于对“同姓不婚”习俗的历史与台湾客家的社会现实情况不了解,对习俗禁忌具有强大社会规约功能缺乏足够的认知,往往把“同姓不婚”的习俗与封建礼教相混淆,导致了对钟理和文学作品真正内涵的认识不到位。
