405 Mao Tse-tung met with Mikoyan and so on at the early 1949 in Xibaipo. At the banquet, he could not understand the kind of arrogance that the Soviets drank and let the chef stir the red pepper. Mikoyan did not chew a few mouthfuls of it, so hot that his mouth was open, and even his eyes burst into tears. However, Mao Zedong talked about eating delicacies while jokingly said: “It is impossible for us to revolutionize eating peppers here.” He added: “You can drink more than we can eat peppers, peppers are thicker than wines!” Mikoyan listened to the translator’s translation and said, “We have experienced Chairman Mao’s greatness.”
