As the most active black female writer in the contemporary American literary world, Alice Walker has drawn wide attention with her distinctive novel. However, Walker’s literary career began with the creation of poetry, and poetry writing throughout her life. From the “once” in 1968 to the “always trusting in you, the earth in good” in 2003, Walker integrated life experience and profound thought in different periods into her poetry. It is noteworthy that Walker’s poetry published after 1990 shows an increasingly strong ecological spirit, which gives her poetry a unique artistic charm. This essay takes two sets of poems such as “We know everything from her blue body: 1965-1990” and “The absolute trust of you and the earth of goodness” as the research texts, and through the ecological spirit and ecological ethics of Walker ’s poetry.
