Ceylon cinnamon is wild in Sri Lanka and India; Seychelles, the West Indies and Brazil are also cultivated. Sri Lanka began home ownership in 1770. The existing area of 26,000 acres, exports 50,000 quintals per year to the United Kingdom for condiments and medicinal purposes. Its original plant is Cinnamomum zeylanicum BI. About 4 years after the planting of the new osmanthus, it can be harvested for the first time. About 50 pounds of canyon can be obtained per acre. The output is increased year after year until the tenth year, during which time 150 to 180 pounds per acre are expected to be harvested. If the leaves are buried in soil, the harvest will be better in the following year.
