European Conference on AIDS Vaccine (EVA) was held in Rome from April 14 to April 15, 1992. The topics of the conference were on the relevance of simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV) -colly monkey models for the preparation of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) vaccines, assessment of methods for producing inactivated vaccines and possible development of retroviral attenuated vaccines The meeting also discussed the possible presence of graft versus host disease (GVHD) in human AIDS. Recent studies also revealed that the “Originel antigenic (Sin)” phenomenon in influenza vaccines may also be found in AIDS; the meeting The results of the animal model studies for the HIV-1 vaccine are considered encouraging. The meeting is now reported as follows.
