Alfred Weber is unique in his field of “cultural morphology” with his “theory of the internal structure of history”. According to his theory, the analysis and investigation of the history of mankind and nation should be divided into three levels: social process, civilized process and cultural movement. The social process is an external manifestation of the history of mankind and nation, just like the human body. The process of civilization is the driving force for the continuation of human history, as human nutrition. The cultural process is the essential attribute of all historical bodies, like human genes. Civilized processes and cultural movements differ in four aspects: “creation” or “discovery”, universality and exclusivity, cumulativeness and one-off, purposiveness and non-purpose. This theory by Alfred Weber is instructive for people to re-understand the meaning of culture and civilization, overcome the European centralism and narrow regional outlook on civilization, carefully examine the social functions of science and technology and establish a global historical perspective
