顾恺之的“传神写照”的绘画理念在中国古代画家和画论中独树一帜。他的绘画理论及作品是中国美学史上重要的一章。中国古代丰富多彩的绘画理论,可以说都是在顾恺之绘画美学观的基础上逐步发展完善的。从现存的古代画迹来看,人物画的发展在魏晋时期出现了大的飞跃,在这段发展过程中,顾恺之的“传神”论,对绘画起到了关键性的作用。
Gu Kaizhi’s “Expressive Writing” concept of painting is unique in ancient Chinese painters and paintings. His theory of painting and his works are an important chapter in the history of Chinese aesthetics. The rich and colorful painting theory of ancient China can be said to develop and improve gradually on the basis of Gu Kaizhi’s aesthetics of painting. Judging from the extant ancient paintings, the development of figure painting presented a big leap in the Wei and Jin Dynasties. During this period of development, Gu Kaizhi’s theory of “expressiveness” played a key role in the painting.
