A study by US researchers found that people who slept less than 6 hours a day had a 4 times greater risk of getting a cold than those who slept for more than 7 hours. Researchers in the United States surveyed 164 volunteers to understand the pressure, character and smoking, drinking and other conditions they were exposed to. The researchers then used wrist sensors to monitor the nightly sleep and quality of these volunteers for a total of one week. Studies show that people who sleep less than 6 hours a night risk a cold more than 4.2 who sleep more than 7 hours a night
