Alkaline polymer flooding was implemented in the central David field, now called Heihe, outside Lloydsbrupt, Alberta, Canada. In the implementation of alkaline polymer flooding block north, west and south at the same time the implementation of the water flooding. In 1969-1978, an alkali polymer flooded block primary recovery produced 5.7% OOIP (Primary Petroleum Geological Reserve). After a waterflood in 1978-1987, 25.5% OOIP was recovered. In September 2001, the recovery rates of primary recovery and water flooding in the northern, western and southern regions reached 51.9% with an average oil content of 2%. In June 1987, alkali polymer co-injection was carried out in the middle of David Oilfield. In the project area, irregular well patterns were used. There were 7 injection wells and 18 production wells with a well spacing of 21 acre. After gradual reduction of polymer slugs Water injection. The implementation of alkali polymer flooding region oil content was 1.5%, a total recovery of 21.1% OOIP. A mining, water flooding plus alkali polymer flooding recovery, recovery rate of 73.0% OOIP. Select a chemical injection based on a laboratory design procedure. Based on core flood data, capillary theory and Taber numbers, surfactant was removed from the solvent. Because 14 new wells were drilled before caustic polymer flooding and the project started with an oil content of only 40%. It is difficult to explain the performance of alkali polymer flooding by conventional methods. This paper presents a method for the interpretation of alkali polymer flooding in the David field.
