Japan’s Defense Ministry’s Technology Research and Development Division (TRDI) said Japan’s defense technicians are developing a new anti-aircraft missile guidance system that improves the detection capability of the system by predicting stealth targets. By calculating where the maneuvering target is about to reach, the guidance system can detect aircraft with low radar cross-sections over long distances and optimize the missile’s flight path. The work is part of a technical plan to enhance interceptions of surface-to-air missiles and surface-to-air missiles, which will take on the task of dealing with stealth aircraft of China and Russia. The approach taken by the guidance system to increase the probability of discovery appears to be based on the concept that by reducing the number of finders
