Starting from the ecological rationality, Gorz believed that the production aimed at promoting the accumulation of capital must necessarily incorporate human needs and nature. As a result, it not only caused extreme scarcity of natural resources but also failed to meet people’s basic survival needs. Even though such fulfillment is indirectly achieved through social production of various types of “historical forms of needs”. In fact, this is the “illusion” that history needs to be satisfied. Just as people enjoy this kind of “illusion”, there is a strong demand for “truth”, which is the need of quality, the need of genuine freedom and the need of creativity. Gorz set out from the social reality in which he lives, revealing the needs of man and the essential relationship between nature and capital, which is of great practical significance.
