缅甸钦敦江大桥为公铁两用的栓焊下承式钢桁梁桥 ,主跨 112 m。中国路桥公司负责该桥主桥上部结构设计、施工设计、上部结构施工指导和监理 ;缅方负责下部构造设计和上、下部结构施工。施工中当钢梁悬臂拼装 80 m时 ,利用吊索架挂索张拉 ,对钢梁施以一定的预拉索力 ,以减少钢梁控制部位杆件内力并利用了温差法成功地实现了钢梁纵移 ,全桥于 1999年 9月建成通车
