1. INTRODUCTION The operation and product quality of the continuous caster depends to a large extent on the smelting process. In order to produce high-purity continuous casting billets, the molten steel itself must be clean. In order to achieve a continuous casting of a furnace, the pouring temperature, chemical composition and time of each operation should be strictly controlled.
