2006年6月29日以来,江苏省苏北地区连降暴雨,受强降雨影响,江苏省里下河、白马湖和宝应湖水位迅速上涨,苏北里下河地区涝情十分严峻。为确保涝区人民生命财产安全,南水北调江苏水源有限责任公司急灾区群众所急,想灾区群众所想,立即启动防汛预案,在江苏省防指的统一调度下,积极投入防汛排涝。按照江苏省防指紧急调度指令,2006年7月1日下午17时,南水北调宝应站首次投运参与里下河地区排涝。3日下午15时,开启备用机组,4台机组满负荷运行,最高排涝流量达到1 60 m3／s。至10日下午6时,机组连续运行10天共217小时,累计抽排涝水11乙m3,为有效缓解里下河地区汛情,促进地方经济发展发挥了重要作用,取得了抗灾斗争的阶段性胜利。

At 15:00 on the 3rd, open standby unit, 4 units at full capacity operation, the maximum drainage flow reached 1 60 m3 / s.
