蜗杆传动具有结构紧凑,传动比大,功率大,传动平稳及噪音小等特点,生产中应用很广泛。 由于蜗轮的制造不能像齿轮那样用一把滚刀可加工各种不同齿数的齿轮(只要模数相同即可),而对不同号数的蜗轮付,要求专用的蜗轮滚刀来加工。目前刀具制造厂还没能力满足生产厂的要求,所以对没有自制滚刀能力的中小厂,在技革中大都采取用齿轮滚刀来加工蜗轮的近似加工方法。但往往由于对这种近似加工方法的造形误差不清楚,在设计和加工蜗轮时不能对症下药,致使加工出来的蜗轮付不能满足啮合要求。
