艺术的现实是很残酷的,艺术本身的要求就是不断地创新。时代在发展,一个时代有一个时代的观众,一个时代有一个时代的艺术家,一个时代有一个时代的美学。艺术家跟不上新的时代,就要被观众所淘汰。因此探索新的电影观念是艺术发展的要求,又是观众的要求,也是时代的要求。传统的电影即戏剧式的电影,在美学上强调人工的雕琢,认为艺术就是人为加工的美,是人工的第二自然。在真实的口号下,现代电影提倡散文式的电影,提出无情节戏剧,反对戏剧结构;走上街头,拍摄实景,用纪录片的手法拍摄故事片;反对职业演员,强调消极表演、即兴表演等等。
