The estoppel principle can be introduced from the specific provisions of the CISG and must be interpreted autonomously within the CISG. The principle of proscription against amending applies to issues that are not clearly resolved within the scope of application of the Convention and can be used to solve many specific issues such as the parties’ statements outside the contract, the revocation of invalidation of contracts, and the relief after alternative transactions.
