The style of his novels is unique in Japanese literary circles. The content and writing style of the novel, especially the forest, are the main narrative objects. However, the charm of its connotation can reflect Japan’s difficult choices in the current war environment. Oe Kenzaburo used his native forest for writing. Through his own personal experience and deep understanding of society at that time, he finally realized that he actually belonged to the forest of his hometown. However, when confronted with the ugly state of society in Tokyo, Kenzaburo Oe not only did not withdraw, but used the forest in his own hometown as the source of strength to critically criticize the social reality through his writing style and to truly represent the forest Out of his caring for the community, but also revealed its own utopian ideal. This essay summarizes the unique style of his works through the description of forest culture in Kenzaburo Oe’s works.
