农业部“农作物种质资源与育种”重点开放实验室,是1996年在南京农业大学农作物种质资源与育种工程实验室的基础上组建而成,该实验室属于国家级重点学科“作物遗传育种”的一个综合性实验室,系博士、硕士学位授予点和博士后流动站。现有工作人员32名,其中教授10名,副教授15名,一半人具有博士学位。实验室主任由南京农业大学现任校长翟虎渠教授担任,学术委员会由盖钧镒教授等9位著名专家教授组成。 该实验室5个主要研究方向:(1)种质资源的发掘、研究与创新,包括地方品种的生态地理学以及演化、育种性状优异资源的筛选及遗传评价、群体种质的合成及改进等;(2)作物育种原理和方法,包括不同类型育种群体的遗传变异及育种策略、交配制度的遗传效应及应用、不同类型状性的育种方法和技术、杂种优势育种技术与利用、育种利用的试验设计技术等;(3)实用生物技术,包括组织培养与植株再生、QTL标记及辅助选择育种技术、转基因植株培育技术及其研究等;(4)农作物新品种选育与种质改良,包括水稻、小麦、棉花、大豆等主要农作物的新品种选育、种质资源创新及目标性状的遗传与改良等;(5)种子生产及
