宜兴程伟雅好书画,翰墨之余勤于思考,笔耕不辍。近日出示所撰《三耕堂艺话》稿本,随想所至,集腋成裘,读后令人获益良多,启发不浅。当世喜好书画者甚众,然而大多数人都是沉迷在对实践技巧的操作过程中,像程伟这样用心思索,而且能够记录下来的少之又少。其实从古至今,书画艺术从来都不是单纯的技艺,尤其是书法,更是作者综合文化素养的体现。近代以来,随着美术观念的渗透,搞书法的人也逐渐偏重于技巧,于是书法的文人本色越来越淡化。许多人说当代书法虽然繁荣,但真正的大家极少,恐怕正与文人本色的褪却有很大关系。程伟的这部《艺话》,则是这种文人本色的自然流露和典型表达,因而更显得难能可贵。

While the world is fond of calligraphers, most are indulged in the manipulation of practical skills, as hard as thought by Cheng Wei, and very few can be recorded. In fact, ancient times, the art of painting and calligraphy has never been a mere art, especially the calligraphy, but also the author’s comprehensive cultural accomplishments. In modern times, with the infiltration of the concept of art, people who engage in calligraphy are also gradually focusing on the skills, so the character of the calligraphists becomes more and more desalination. Many people say that contemporary calligraphy, though prosperous, is rare in the real world and is probably of great relevance to the decline of the literati’s character. Cheng Wei’s “art talk” is the natural expression and typical expression of this kind of literati character, which makes it even more commendable.
