Objective: To investigate the effect of Si mill decoction on chronic dopamine receptor 1, 2 (DR1, DR2) in mice and to clarify the mechanism of Si mill decoction in treating functional gastrointestinal disease (FGIDs). Methods: The animals were randomly divided into three groups: control group, distilled water, domperidone (7.56 mL.kg-1), distilled water, Brain and intestine tissue DR1, DR2 expression. Results: The expressions of DR1 and DR2 in brain and duodenum of model mice increased significantly compared with those in normal mice (P <0.05). The expression of DR1 and DR2 decreased in model group, The difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion: Si mill decoction regulates the expressions of D1 and D2 dopamine receptors, which may be one of the mechanisms of its action in treating functional gastrointestinal diseases.
