以本世纪七十年代崛起的沉积物重力流理论,根据实地考察的十一个剖面岩相及其演化序列,将我国几个地区震旦纪“冰碛物”划分为黔东的深海型、河南罗圈和陕西上张湾的浅海型、滇东王家湾的海进型等三种重力流沉积物,它们在重力流类型发育程度、相展布、沉积构造、化学成分诸方面是既有区别又有联系的重力流沉积物统一体。
