Lil Beijia, a small figure in Vanity Fair, is a clue to the development of the entire work. There are three types of relationships around the center: father-son relationship, brotherhood and marriage. Saclay will replace the relationship between these three kinds of characters and the characters in the Bible, cleverly applied to the creation of “Vanity Fair.” Many references to “Bible” characters, such as Delilah, Hercules Samson, Cain and so on. The author uses metaphorical characters in the Bible to illustrate the relationship between characters in his works. Through the use and replacement of the prototype, the author presents three different states of human relations. These three different states imply the prototype of the patriarchal relationship of degeneration and exile, the prototype of the brotherly relationship of betrayal and return, the archetypal marriage between atonement and new birth. Based on the archetypal Biblical theory, this essay concretely illustrates the prototypes of the three relations in Vanity Fair.
