以高粱雄不育系A2与黑壳苏丹草种间杂交后代为选择群体,历经8个世代育成了蒙农青饲1号高丹草。该草植株整齐,株高350cm以上,发育前期生长速度快,生育期136～140d,中晚熟类型,种子活秆成熟,茎叶青绿期长;分蘖性和再生性强,单株分蘖数5～8个,生长季内可刈割3次,鲜草产量133000kg/hm2左右,种子产量6000kg/hm2左右;茎叶柔嫩、多汁,糖锤度3.44%,茎叶比3.04;在拔节期干物质中粗蛋白质含量高达14.71%,开花期的粗蛋白质含量10.32%、粗脂肪4.05%、粗纤维34.90%、粗灰分5.13%、无氮浸出物43.44%,并富含各种氨基酸,饲草营养价值高,氰化物(CN-)含量低,饲喂安全,为优等饲草;抗逆能力较强,抗倒伏、抗病虫、抗寒、较抗旱,适宜于内蒙古及毗邻省区种植。
