According to the American Medical Tribune July 28, 1994, the British physician reported in a recent issue of the British Medical Journal (1994.309: 78) that healthy pregnant women taking an ordinary diet do not have to have iron supplements. British Whittarer physician reports that pregnancy stimulates iron absorption to counter the increase in iron requirement during pregnancy. Whittaker studied 12 pregnant women without iron deficiency or anemia and found that at 36 weeks of pregnancy, these women absorbed nine times as much iron as the 12th week of pregnancy. These women are all measuring the level of iron in the body after eating a lot of meat and orange juice. It is known that orange juice can be used
