文章主要从两汉时期雕塑的形式语言及结构、色彩、现实性等方面阐述了非写实性表达的特点与表现,并且从哲学观念及社会审美、人们的自我认识等几个方面分析形成非写实性表达的主要原因,指出雕塑的初衷并不是为了审美的需求,而是在满足功能需求和信仰需求的同时附加的审美功能,在艺术的分区里不能单纯地用写实或者非写实来区分艺术的高低,也正因如此,才使艺术更加丰富多彩并充满魅力。
