双语课开在文科合适,还是开在理科合适?双语课是“宜早不宜晚”,还是要以保证母语思维为先、循序渐进?双语是先在少数拓展型课程中尝试,还是要全面进驻主体学科?双语教学中怎样平衡英语和学科教学的关系,从而达到”双赢”而非”两弊”?双语教学评价,学科和英语应该各占什么样的比重?……4月9日下午,沪上二十余位中小学校长齐聚上海市上海中学,围绕双语教学中的深层次问题展开热烈讨论。研讨会由《上海教育》理事会主办,这也是该理事会自去年底成立以来的首次活动。“就我们学校的实际而言,双语教学的目的是很明确,就是着眼于学生将来提高学科水平。”上海中学校长唐盛昌说,“因为我们的学生毕业后,很多将在专业方面继续深造,而大量的专业资料,特别是理工类专业都是英文的。在因特网上,90%以上的信息都是英文的。现在我们的双语教学就是要为他们储备继续学习的能力,否则,学生将会缺乏国际竞争力。”

Over 90% of the information on the Internet is in English.
