The authors analyzed hypothalamic and pituitary functions in patients with Cushing’s disease who had previously been treated with high-voltage radiotherapy and found that high-voltage radiotherapy can cause significant hypothalamic pituitary dysfunction and develop pituitary hypothyroidism. The authors investigated 8 patients who underwent high-voltage radiotherapy for Cushing’s disease between 5 and 12 years ago (mean, 9 years), including 7 females, aged 34 to 57 years and mean age of 44 years.
