由红花夹竹桃叶中提出一结晶体,熔点250.5—251.5℃,[a](~23.5)=-47.9(无水乙醇),并测得其分子内含有乙酰基,初步证明为欧夹竹桃甙丙(oleandrin)。与洋地黄毒甙(digitoxin)进行强心作用比较,证明本品确具强心作用。通过在位兔心及离体豚鼠心实验,其作用出现时间,作用高峯时间及中毒时间均与洋地黄毒甙类似,故属慢效心甙类。鸽平均致死量为0.44±0.04毫克/公斤(标准差),其效价约相当于洋地黄毒甙的1.8倍。

Through the rabbit heart and isolated guinea pig heart experiments, the role of the time, the peak time and poisoning time are similar with digitalis glycosides, it is a slow acting glycosides. The average lethal dose of pigeons was 0.44 ± 0.04 mg / kg (standard deviation), which was about 1.8 times the potency of that of digitoxin.
