The author traces the scenery of the autumn and the moon in the Qiujiang River, throws his career to frustration and depression, and then examines life in terms of interpretation and morality to achieve spiritual self-liberation. “Red Cliff” is as profound as the painting’s philosophy. It has developed the writing techniques of Fu Fu to the point of perfection. It symbolizes the highest achievement of the prose of the Song Dynasty and becomes a famous piece of eternal praise.
